Because of the unpaid vacation from work, I decided to go back to Taiwan for two weeks. I already called my travel agent last night and had everything arranged. I will be departed on Oct. 5th. Apparently, it was a good time to travel because the airline ticket will be cheaper if departed on and after Oct. 5th. I don't plan on doing much in Taiwan. Visiting family and friends, and eating yummy food. Man, Taiwan has some of the tastiest food ever and most are not the fancy schmancy high class restaurants. Great, I have to be on diet after I get back from Taiwan. Why is that gourmet food and tight short skirt never go together?

Unpaid two Weeks off -兩個禮拜的無薪假
Just got off the company meeting. The owner is going to close the operation for two weeks, starting next Monday 10/5. Everyone will have two weeks off, unpaid! Great. I know the business is bad. We got virtually no order last week and no order today. But still! Two weeks without paid. Good thing I have a bit raining day saving, it will not be a big problem for me. As for long term job security, I do not know. I can only hope for the best and hope that after the two weeks vacation, we will have a lot of orders and company can survive this economic hardship.

Mahjong and Football -麻將和美式足球
A fairly relaxing weekend. On Saturday morning, I met up with my girlfriends in my friend's house in Newport Beach. We had lunch in her house. We went to Huntington Beach Pier after lunch. A group of chatty Asian women with a baby stroller must be a sight to be seen. The weather was surprisingly cold. It was cloudy and foggy and windy. It was fun and kind of cerebral for me. Although I don't understand the detail of varies type of formation, but I like to see how defend and offense trying to outwit each other. I don't have any favorite team, although I used to like 49ers a lot because Steve Young was cute. LOL

Restaurant City is Addictive
The game Restaurant City on Facebook is surely addictive. I started playing last week and was hooked ever since. There is something about trading ingredients with friends, decorating my own restaurant, keeping a watchful eye on my employees, and dressing up my avatar. It is the high tech version of playing the doll house. Watching customers walk around in my restaurant is simply mesmerizing. Too bad I can't play it at work. IT blocks Facebook, with a understandable reason.
